Abstract. Mulia DS, Utomo T, Isnansetyo A. 2022. The efficacy of Aeromonas hydrophila GPl-04 feed-based vaccine on African catfish (Clarias gariepinus). Biodiversitas 23: 1505-1510. is a pathogenic bacterium to Vaccination one the strategic efforts control this type bacterial attack. objective study was determine effectiveness for catfish. This used strain isolate as material. Sample measuring 10-13 cm length, weighing 16-25 g, taken from aquaculture ponds in Purbalingga area, Central Java, Indonesia. applied experiments under completely randomized design (CRD) method with 5 treatments and 3 replications. consisted P0: feed without (control); P1: 10 mL/100 g dose given days; P2: 15 P3: mL/ 100 P4: days. challenge test carried out week 3, by injecting 0.1 mL suspension at 105CFU/mL per fish. main parameters included fish antibody titer, survival rate (SR), relative percent (RPS), mean time death (MTD), growth rate. Supporting water quality such temperature, pH, dissolved O2 levels. parameter data were analyzed using analysis variance (ANOVA) Duncan multiple range (DMRT) 5% level, supporting descriptively quantitative analyzed. results showed could increase SR, RPS, MTD (P<0.05). In addition, vaccination did not adversely affect growth. effective protecting attack where dose, days (P1) indicated most compared other treatments.

Dietary administration of Bacillus thuringiensis on the cellular innate immune response of African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) against Aeromonas hydrophila.
AIM An experiment was conducted to evaluate the use of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) as a probiotic to enhance the cellular innate immune response of the African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) challenged with a bacterial fish pathogen, Aeromonas hydrophila. MATERIALS AND METHODS The bacterium (Bt) was administered orally at three different dietary doses of 0.5 x 10(7) (T2), 1.0 x 10(7) (T3) and 1...
متن کاملAeromonas hydrophila: Antimicrobial Susceptibility and Histopathology of Isolates from Diseased Catfish, Clarias gariepinus (Burchell)
High antibiotic resistance is seen in bacterial infections caused by members of the genus Aeromonas [1]. They are amid the most common diseases of fish especially those in pond systems containing recirculation [2]. The emergence of resistance to antimicrobial agents in bacterial pathogens is a global public health problem [3]. A. hydrophila is a microorganism widely distributed in nature: in wa...
متن کاملWhite Mulberry (Morus alba) Foliage Methanolic Extract Can Alleviate Aeromonas hydrophila Infection in African Catfish (Clarias gariepinus)
Two experiments were simultaneously conducted with Morus alba (white mulberry) foliage extract (MFE) as a growth promoter and treatment of Aeromonas hydrophila infection in separate 60 and 30 days trail (Experiments 1 and 2, resp.) in African catfish (Clarias gariepinus). In Experiment 1, four diets, control and control supplemented with 2, 5, or 7 g MFE/kg dry matter (DM) of diet, were used. I...
متن کاملHistopathological Effects of Glyphosate on Juvenile African Catfish (Clarias gariepinus)
Most aquatic herbicides have undergone some toxicity testing for effects on non-target aquatic organisms, little of this testing has been conducted on early life stages of Clarias gariepinus. African catfish C. gariepinus were exposed to acute concentrations of glyphosate for 96hrs. The lethal concentration (LC ) 5O value of glyphosate was 0.295 mg l for 96h of exposure. The mean mortality perc...
متن کاملInduction of triploidy with caffeine treatment in the African catfish (Clarias gariepinus)
Induction of triploidy is one of the biotechnological methods in aquaculture used for genetic manipulation. It refers to a state where organisms have three complete sets of chromosomes instead of two and can result in sterility. Caffeine treatment that is safe and inexpensive, serve to induce triploidy in catfish. To suppress the second meiotic division, fertilized eggs were exposed to three di...
